OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

With the COVID-19 crisis, cleanliness and hygiene are critical for our community more than ever. The Laundry Truck LA is committed to running our services and offering free laundry and disinfecting wipes to our neighbors in need as long as we physically can, while taking all the necessary precautions to keep our staff, volunteers and especially those we serve protected. Workers are always required to wear a face covering and protective gloves, and the service area must be kept sanitized. Additionally, we are enforcing appropriate social distancing while still showing love, and limiting the number of people inside the trailer to 1-2 at all times.

Some services are currently canceled because our host site is closed, but we are ramping up other services and are continuing with Safe Parking . We’ve also started servicing new locations as an immediate response to COVID-19 to support the 42 shelters Los Angeles has put together. We are fundraising and working on additional trailers to expedite the need. Many thanks to our partners CD1, SD1 and Clorox for their continued support. Also a world of thanks to our team on the front lines for their willingness to show up for the community. We especially want to highlight the City of Los Angeles & Gil Cedillo for leading the charge and getting services to those who really need them. 

With all of that said, we need your help to make this happen!  As you can imagine, sheltering in place is quite difficult when you’re without shelter, not to mention sanitizing and maintaining individual hygiene. $20 pays for 34 pounds of laundry, and your $50 donation can help 2 families stay well with clean clothes and sanitizing products.  We would love for you to be a part of The Laundry Truck LA’s mission to provide aid in these extreme circumstances.
