what is the laundry truck la?

The Laundry Truck LA is a free mobile laundry service that provides many families, men, women & children experiencing homelessness in the downtown and greater Los Angeles area with clean clothes.

Development and fundraising efforts are led by Dolan Group Inc., a Los Angeles-based, modern, socially responsible fashion company.

why do we need it?

Accessible personal care services, like laundry, truly impact lives, and can make the difference in securing employment or housing. With the LA Fashion District situated alongside the community of Skid Row, Dolan's mission to serve the homeless became clear. Did you know LA County's homeless population is 2nd highest in the nation at 52.7k (31% women), and unofficially estimated over 100k, 74% unsheltered? This includes thousands of children under the age of 18.

Our goal is to build awareness for this cause and continue bringing this much needed service to our neighboring communities.

HOW IT WORKS

The truck is outfitted with 5 washer/dryer sets and operates for 6 hours a day, MULTIPLE days a week with the potential to help 4,000 - 6,500 in need within our first year.

We have a motivated team who runs the day-to-day operations. Our first year growth plan is to operate 3-5 days a week at multiple locations, and later as we grow, our mission is to expand and reach other communities across the country.

1ST YEAR funding progress:

$0 $150,000

how can you help?

$150,000 is the financial need to sustain operations for 1 year and cover our first fully outfitted truck & trailer. Together, we’ve met our goal to bring this service to life, but we still need funding to continue reaching those in need for the remainder of the year. Your donations, voice & role in this journey are so appreciated!
